RESOLVED:

That, in accordance with Section 100A(4) of the Local Government Act 1972, in view of the nature of the business to be transacted, the meeting be not open to the public during the discussion of Minute 22/21 as there will be a disclosure of exempt information as defined in Section 100I of the Act.

The exempt information in question relates to individuals, financial or business affairs of any particular person (including the authority holding that information) as defined in paragraphs 1, 2, 3 and 4 of Schedule 12A to the Act.

MATTERS DEALT WITH UNDER DELEGATED POWERS

22/21 – DESTINATION MANAGEMENT ORGANISATION (DMO) STRUCTURE: The Head of Destination Management submitted a written report the purpose of which was to seek approval of a restructure of the Culture, Tourism (including Visit Harrogate) and Harrogate Convention Centre Marketing teams in order to establish a new Destination Management Organisation (DMO) for the Harrogate District. On the 18 September 2019 Cabinet had approved a plan to streamline destination management and marketing for the Harrogate District. Following this decision, in 2021, a new Destination Management Organisation (DMO) for the Harrogate District had been established, its purpose was to raise the profile of the Harrogate District as an exceptional place to visit, meet and invest. The DMO required a staffing structure that was fit for purpose and suitably flexible to respond to changing customer expectations/market developments and seasonal demand. The proposed structure would support this and enable the right mix of skills and experience to be in place to deliver the DMO’s vision and strategy.
