That the Self-build and Custom Housebuilding Update Report is published and the Executive Officer Policy and Place be authorised to make minor amendments and improvements for publishing.
Local Authorities have a legal duty to hold a Register of individuals and associations of individuals who are seeking serviced plots of land through the Self and Custom Housebuilding Act 2015 (as amended by the Housing and Planning Act 2016). It also has a statutory duty under the Act to grant sufficient planning consents to meet the demand on the Council’s register. The Council have held a register since 1 April 2016.
The Update Report sets out the outcome of the review of both the demand data and monitoring data which will assist the future delivery of self-build and custom housebuilding.
Not to publish the Self-build and Housebuilding Update Report. This is rejected as the report sets out the data set which will assist in the delivery of self-build and custom housebuilding. It also provides clarity to the Council’s customers.
